Greeters and ushers are ministers who clear the path for worship by providing information and attending to concerns and needs of worshippers. As the service progresses they work in concert with the worship leaders to provide an orderly service.
Those who minister in this fashion are prepared, committed and faithful, answering the call to “Prepare the way for the Lord.”
Here are a few simple suggestions for the Sunday mornings in which you are scheduled to greet.
· Please arrive by 9:40 a.m.
· Smile.
· Personally greet each person.
· Hand them a bulletin.
· Thank them for coming.
· Remain at the back of the church for the duration of the service to greet and seat any people that come later.
· Count the number of people in the sanctuary during the children’s sermon. Mark it in the tally book in the desk. Add any people that come later.
Additionally, as appropriate, greeters should be ready to help visitors find:
· The restrooms
· The nursery
· The children’s bookrack
· The Fellowship Hall after service for refreshments
The Worship and Music Committee and the entire church body are grateful for your service.
