Rev. Lindsey Braun began her residency at Hyde Park Union Church in July 2009. Rev. Braun received her B.A. in Fine Arts from St. Olaf College in her home state of Minnesota, focusing in storytelling and travelling to Tanzania to study African oral literature, theater and dance. She attended the University of Chicago Divinity School as a Rolland W. Schloerb scholar, pursuing interests in theology of incarnation and the body in worship and preaching. She received her Master of Divinity in June 2009.
Interested in how a theology of incarnation affects both physical and spiritual care, Rev. Braun has worked as a chaplain, earning her first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education while working with VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, caring for patients on Chicago's South and West sides. She continues her chaplaincy now at Jackson Park Hospital.
Rev. Braun was ordained to the Ministry in the United Church of Christ on May 21, 2011.
