Tyler Gillespie joined the pastoral staff of Hyde Park Union Church in July 2007. A native Texan, Tyler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Baylor University in Waco, TX in 2003. Upon graduation, he pursued his Master of Divinity degree at Duke University in Durham, NC. During his time at Duke, Tyler served on staff at Yates Baptist Church in Durham, NC and also spent a semester in Washington DC as a staff member for the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty. After receiving his M.Div. degree, Tyler returned to Texas to complete a Master of Theology degree, a year-long complimentary degree to the M.Div., at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. Tyler has a certificate in Baptist Studies from the Baptist House at Duke Divinity School and he is also a Congregational Fellow through The Fund for Theological Education and a member of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. As Lilly Pastoral Resident, he currently serves our Children and Families ministry, providing spiritual support to children, youth and families, having completed a rotation as Chaplain at Jackson Park Hospital.
