A Message about our Capital Fund:
We're Doing It!
In spring 2024, the congregation committed to raising $500,000 to complete repairs to the fifth-level tower room in 2024, sealing it against further damage from the elements. While it's not visibly front and center, the deterioration of the tower room has severely hampered our ability to use and space share much of our building, and it has been a drain on staff and lay leadership time and energy.
Moving toward repair and Chicago landmark designation was a necessary and decisive step of faith, in our congregation, our space, and our broader mission in the community.
The work was planned for fall of 2024, but supply chain issues meant the tower had to weather another winter. The project finally kicked off in April 2025, and wrapped up in June. We continue to fundraise, with $110,000 left to go toward our current goal. To make a tax-deductible donation to our building repair fund, you can give online or write a check (encouraged to avoid online banking fees). To transfer stocks (tax free!), please reach out to [email protected]. Please be sure to indicate that the donation is meant for the capital/building fund.
We are so grateful to all who made this happen, and eager to turn our focus toward the next phase of renewing, reenergizing, and reimagining the space we occupy, both literally and spiritually. The path ahead will take prayer, time, special skills, more decisions, and financial generosity, and we need all of us! Stay tuned for more details!
