​Children and youth are an integral part of our worship and congregational life

WORSHIP

We believe that God’s kin-dom is for all of us; so worship is too! We invite families with children of all ages to attend our morning worship service. We love seeing little ones dancing in the aisles and playing the pews. Books and coloring materials are available for use during worship for all ages.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

We offer a joint Sunday School program in collaboration with the Hyde Park Korean United Methodist Church. Sunday School is available for children ages 3 to 8 in our nursery room. Please speak with one of the greeters or one of the pastors on Sunday morning for a further introduction to the program.

BAPTISM

Our church is part of two denominations: the United Church of Christ and the American Baptist Church, USA. These denominations are similar in many ways, but are different in their practice of baptism. The UCC practices baptism during infancy, while the ABC practices believer’s baptism at any life stage. We offer both methods of baptism, as well as baby blessings for parents in the Baptist tradition.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is available for teenagers who are ready to take the next step in their faith life. Classes are taught by the pastors and lay leaders. This is a time to celebrate all that growing and changing during this stage of life and to explore how God is present in all of it.
