Learning the Art of Worship
The Children’s Choir is open to children in Grades 1–8 and rehearses on Sundays at 9:10 a.m. Directed by Francy Acosta, the Children’s Choir is a place to learn traditional and contemporary sacred music through age-appropriate activities that are focused and fun. Children learn how to use their voices to sing joyfully together; they learn the basics of rhythm, tempo, melody, and harmony; and more importantly, our children learn to appreciate the significance and the art of worship. Developing Leaders During the school year, the Children’s Choir sings the introit that leads the congregation into worship on most Sundays, and throughout the year, they perform special anthems on their own and with the Senior Choir. In rehearsals, the children take turns leading warm-up exercises, and there are opportunities for older children to gain experience directing the choir. New children are always welcome. If interested, please contact us or call the church office, and the director, Francy Acosta, will get back to you. |
